Shopping Tour
Milan is the main hub for Italian, and indeed international, fashion, and is home to major luxury fashion brands which have their marquee stores in the “Quadrilatero della moda”.
This area takes its name from the four streets which delimit it: Via Monte Napoleone, Via Alessandro Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia.
Taking a stroll down these streets allows you to discover the more glamorous side of the city, admiring the fashion houses and boutiques of the best-known international brands, including Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton and Cartier.
The heart of the area is Via Monte Napoleone, considered one of the most prestigious and costly in the world, alongside Fifth Avenue in New York City and the Champs - Élysées in Paris. The name dates back to 1804, during Napoleonic rule, when Milan was already frequented by visitors from different countries.
It was from the 1950s that the street imposed itself as one of the most important in the world for shopping.
Another location dedicated to shopping is Scalo Milano, where aesthetics and innovation come together.
The brands present include numerous single-brand stores, not just for clothing but also furniture and accessories, such as Luxury Living Store (with Fendi Casa and Trussardi Casa), as well as Molteni & C, Poltrona Frau, Poliform, B&B Italia, Kartell, Alessi and Scavolini.
At Scalo Milano, the model is very similar to that of the Quadrilatero della Moda, with thematic shopping experiences aimed both at Italian customers and foreign visitors interested in Italian products.
business tour
Hotel Santa Barbara is on the south-east edge of the Milan metro area, in one of the most significant company towns in Italy.
The Metanopoli business district, brainchild of Enrico Mattei, president of Italian oil company Eni, was designed in 1952 as an innovative urban planning model. It is indeed not just a simple company headquarters, but an area designed with an advanced vision, in a strategic position on the outskirts of Milan.
art & culture tour
The best times of year to visit Milan are mid-late spring and early autumn, when the climate is at its best for discovering the city.
The itinerary can begin in Piazza del Duomo, the centre of the city from which the main streets branch off. Here you will find the famous cathedral, Duomo di Milano, one of the most significant examples of Gothic architecture, featuring a combination of Nordic elements and Lombard tradition.
