Green Project

For environmentally sustainable tourism, the Santa Barbara Hotel has started a "green" project that involves all environments, from the common areas to the rooms.

Through the collaboration with Pedersoli Group, we are one of the first companies to have obtained the ISO 9001 process certification and the UNI EN 14065 product's hygienic quality, for the treatment of all of Majestic's textiles. (Pedersoli Group Certification)

Energy saving

Steps for green tourism include the reduction in energy consumption, a path that Santa Barbara started by replacing its light sources with low consumption LED bulbs.

Attention to the environment that allows to reduce energy consumption by 80% compared to the use of traditional light bulbs and CO2: about 222 g of CO2 for each guest, or 8 trees saved. (Neopac Certification)

We have also already renovated 50 percent of our hotel fleet by replacing old boilers and chiller units with new state-of-the-art equipment. This allows us to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Even in the details

We select our suppliers based on the materials they use. As was the case of our partnership with Bottega dell'Albergo: we use wheat fiber bags to accommodate Guests clothing and provide our Guests disposable slippers made only from natural materials (cotton upper and jute sole), wrapped by a recycled paper band. All ballpoint pen used in our hotels, previously made of plastic, have been replaced by new one made of bamboo and steel.

The water we give free of charge to our Guests is packaged in tetrapak containers with vegetable fiber caps. The "Culti" courtesy set, available in the bathroom, is made by recycled ocean plastic. Additional partnerships include La via del Tè with its special tea and infusion and Segafredo Zanetti S.p.a; The mission of Segafredo Zanetti SpA is to satisfy consumers by providing them with excellent quality products and services, in full compliance with the ethical values of fairness, integrity, honesty, transparency and fair competition in the conduct of their business (Segrafedo Zanetti Certification).

To safeguard the environment, we favour the conscious collection of toner, exhausted batteries and the use of FSC paper in all communications (FSC Certification). Certain that even our Guests will appreciate the commitment to even more sustainable tourism.

The green project also concerns the common areas and the rooms, and in particular the textile materials treated by Pedersoli Group, which uses plants able to reduce energy consumption by 35% compared to traditional ones, thus limiting emissions and the use of natural resources. For this reason the company is among the first to have obtained the ISO 9001 process and hygienic quality certification of the product UNI EN 14065.
