Es.Dentro Caravaggio
Eighteen paintings by Michelangelo Merisi will be on display in Milan at Palazzo Reale, where visitors will find masterpieces from prestigious museums around the world, documents detailing his turbulent life and his works, and diagnostic studies revealing the techniques used by the master.
The exhibition is sponsored and produced by the City of Milan–Culture, Palazzo Reale, and MondoMostre Skira, in collaboration with MIBACT, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. The Bracco Group is a partner of the exhibition for the new diagnostic studies. The exhibition design will be created by Studio Cerri & Associati. Curated by Rossella Vodret, with the support of a prestigious scientific committee chaired by Keith Christiansen, the exhibition aims to shed new light on the years of Caravaggio’s extraordinary artistic output through two key perspectives: diagnostic investigations and new documentary research that have led to a reevaluation of the chronology of his early works, thanks both to new dates emerging from documents and to the results of scientific analyses, which for several years have represented the new frontier of research in both art history and restoration.
